Richard attended the Georgia Institute of Technology, College of Architecture, and received his Bachelor of Science with High Honor in 1983, a Certificate in Energy Studies in 1983, and a Master of Architecture degree in 1985.
Richard's academic studies focused on emerging technologies for energy efficiency, including super-insulated building envelopes, active and passive solar design, and computer simulation of building energy performance, pre-dating today's sustainable movement by more than 30 years. Through continuing education, Richard stays informed of sustainable materials and techniques to save homeowners money and contribute to a healthier environment.
